Flying Start Leaders Forum 3

Flying Start Leaders Forum 3 – From Intention to Impact

As a leader of a Flying Start 3-year-old preschool partner service in 2026, you are warmly invited to attend Flying Start Leaders Forum 3 – From Intention to Impact. This free and exclusive event is hosted by the Office for Early Childhood Development in partnership with Semann & Slattery.

Building on the foundations of Forums 1 and 2, this forum moves the focus beyond intention and into action. It focuses on the realities of implementing 3-year-old preschool, with a strong emphasis on how leadership, communication, and professional development translate into meaningful improvements in practice and outcomes for children.

Service leaders are encouraged to attend alongside a ā€œplus oneā€ from their service. We encourage you to bring your Educational Leader to support shared learning and practical application at your service.

What you will gain from attending

This interactive forum will support leaders to:

  • Translate reform intentions into clear, practical actions within your service
  • Learn from real implementation stories across diverse service contexts
  • Strengthen how you communicate the value and impact of the Flying Start 3-year-old preschool to families and communities
  • Identify what makes professional learning effective and how to ensure it leads to sustained changes in practice
  • Explore strategies to move from individual professional learning to whole-of-service improvement aligned to your Quality Improvement Plan and service priorities
  • Engage in structured peer dialogue and networking to share insights, challenges, and solutions.

You will hear directly from sector leaders, engage in interactive activities, and participate in panel discussions on the challenges and opportunities of delivering high-quality 3-year-old preschool.

A key feature of the day includes a practical planning activity where you will begin mapping how professional learning can lead to visible changes in educator practice and quality within your service.
